This virtual mouse can be used the way one would use the real one, except that some of the interactive gestures are different. Users rest their palms and fingers on a flat surface and perform the actions. The ‘Mouseless' device has been developed by the Fluid Interfaces Group at the Media Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Pranav Mistry of Sixth Sense fame, who leads the project, says it is made up of an infrared laser beam and an infrared camera. The laser beam module is fitted with a filter which converts the laser point into a laser line, and an infrared layer of sorts is created just above the surface on which the computer is placed.

Motions of the hand are detected by the infrared camera and then interpreted in terms of cursor movements and mouse clicks.

Both the laser beam module and camera are embedded in the computer.

A fully functional prototype of ‘Mouseless' cost $20 to build.

But what are the chances of an invisible mouse catching on in a world dominated by the real mouse? What about the ease-of-use factor?

Mr. Mistry says: “We haven't done any long-term user study with ‘Mouseless' yet. But it is certainly more ergonomically relaxing to use. The reason is that one can use the pose one wants to use. We did some preliminary studies, and the results are amazing.

Thillalangadi is about a young man Krishna (Ravi), who is restless and seeks something in life which he himself is not sure of. He gets kicks out of doing things extraordinary. He cannot stay in a job which fetches him a lakh of rupees for more than a month because it gives him the kicks to
throw his job away. Normalcy is his pet peeve and he goes to any extent to just enjoy the ‘KICK’; in the process baffles and miffs people around
him. His parents Prabhu and Suhasini understand him and leave him to his destiny knowing very well that Krishna will never go astray.

The short animated flashback of his childhood days and the pranks he played on others as a kid is really funny and nice. Then he meets Nisha (Tamana).Tamannah,in the opening scene, doing yoga in a sexy avatar in all possible angles in Malaysia. (A surprise for a Jayam Raja film!)
Krishna falls in love with her and proposes her and also tells her not accept his proposal very easily as there would be no kick in that. She hates him at first for the kind of freak he is but then slowly understands his good part and tries to discipline him. Things go smoothly for a month. Nisha believes Krishna has changed and is working now in a good company. She wants accept his proposal but only then she is told by her uncle that he has been cheating on her and he has not changed. Nisha feels heart broken and starts hating Krishna and they break up even before getting into a relationship.

Her parents bring forth an alliance for her and she is asked to meet a boy in a train. She agrees with much reluctance and
meets the boy Krishna Kumar (Shaam). The story starts unfolding with Nisha narrating how she met Krishna and parted her ways with him.

(Shaam) who is a police officer coming to Malaysia is in pursue of a thief whom he has never seen. Nisha and Krishnakumar share their stories with each other. While she never wants to see the protagonist of her story in her life again, Krishnakumar wants to meet the antagonist of his story desperately. Co-incedently both the protagonist and the antagonist of their respective stories is the same person and as you guess that is none other than Krishna (Jeyam ravi). இப்படிக்கு சூர்யா

நடிகர் சிவக்குமாரின் 'இது ராஜாபாட்டை அல்ல' நான் பத்திரமாக பாதுகாக்கும் புத்தகங்களில் ஒன்று. அவரது இளமைப் பருவம் முதல் தற்போதைய காலம் வரை அவரைப் பற்றியும் அவரது வாழ்க்கையைப் பாதித்தவர்களைப் பற்றியும் அலசிய புத்தகம். 'அலையன்ஸ்' பதிப்பகத்தாருடையது. விலை 350+ (2005-ம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் மாதத்தில்)இவ்வருட புத்தகக் கண்காட்சியில் அப்புத்தக விலை 170 அளவிற்கு குறைக்கப்பட்டது வருத்தம் கலந்த மகிழ்ச்சி. மகிழ்ச்சிக்கு காரணம் புத்தகம் இன்னும் அதிகமான மக்களை சென்றடையும். வருத்தத்திற்கு காரணம் நான் மட்டும் 350 ரூபாய் கொடுக்க வேண்டியதிருந்ததே என்பது தான்.அதே 'அலையன்ஸ்' பதிப்பகத்தாரிடமிருந்து சிவக்குமாரின் மகன் நடிகர் சூர்யா எழுதிய 'இப்படிக்கு சூர்யா' புத்தகம் பொங்கலன்று வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. புத்தகத்தைப் புரட்டி பார்த்தேன். சரி தந்தையைப் பற்றியும், தன்னைப் பற்றியும், திரையுலக வாழ்க்கையைப் பற்றியும் என்ன சொல்லியிருக்கிறார் என்று பார்ப்போம் என்று தான் வாங்கினேன். விலை ~240.ஆனாலும் எனக்கு நம்பிக்கையில்லை. புத்தகத்தில் கொடுக்குமளவிற்கு சூர்யாவிற்கு என்ன தெரிந்திருக்க முடியும்? அவர் வாழ்வில் அப்படி என்ன சாதித்திருக்க முடியும் (அவரது தந்தை அளவிற்கு அனுபவம் கொண்டவரல்லவே?) என்ற கேள்வியுடன் தான் வாங்கினேன். வியாபார யுத்தி தானோ என்றெல்லாம் கேள்விகள். சரி ஐந்து பக்கங்கள், நல்ல விசயம் இருந்தாலே லாபம் தானே என்று வாங்கிக் கொண்டேன்.மேலும் அனைத்துப் புத்தகங்களிலும், சூர்யா தனது கையெழுத்தினைப் பதித்திருந்தார். நான் இது அவரே கைப்பட எழுதியதா அல்லது அச்சில் வடிக்கப்பட்டு அச்சிடப்பட்டதா என்று ஆராய்ந்தேன். மேலோட்டமாகப் பார்த்ததில் ஒரு வித்தியாசமும் தெரியவில்லை. நான்கு புத்தகங்களை எடுத்து கூர்ந்து கவனத்துப் பார்த்த பிறகு தான் வித்தியாசம் தெரிந்தது.'400 புத்தகங்களுக்கு அவரை உட்கார்ந்து கையெழுத்துப் போட்டது...', 'அலையன்ஸ்' நிறுவன ஊழியர் தந்த பதில்.வீட்டிற்கு இரவு 9 மணிக்கு வந்து புத்தகத்தைப் புரட்டத் துவங்கியதில் பேருந்திற்கு நேரமானது கூடத் தெரியவில்லை. ஆரம்பம் முதல் அற்புதம்."முத்து எடுக்கலாம் என்று மூழ்குகிறவன் செத்துப்போவதும் உண்டு.செத்துப்போகலாம் என்று கடலில் விழுகிறவன் கை நிறையமுத்துக்களை அள்ளுவதும் உண்டு". நான் இரண்டாவது ரகம்.கடல் வேண்டாம் என்று துப்புகிற கிளிஞ்சல்களைக் கூடதிறமையாக பொறுக்கத் தெரியவில்லையே என்கிறதாழ்வு மனப்பான்மை தான் என் ஒரே சொத்து...."என்று முதல் பக்கத்தில் ஆரம்பித்து கடைசி வரை.இது போன்ற உவமைகளை விட என்னை மிகவும் கவர்ந்தது: புத்தகமெங்கும் நிறைந்திருந்த 'உண்மை'. தான் செய்த தவறுகளை ஒப்புக்கொள்வதற்கு, அதுவும் புகழின் உச்சியிலிருக்கும் போது புத்தகங்களில் சொல்வதற்கு பெரிய தைரியம் வேண்டும். அது சூர்யாவிடம் அளவிற்கு அதிகமாகவே இருக்கிறது.ஆனால் நாம் இப்போது காணும் சூர்யாவா இது போன்ற செயல்களைச் செய்தது என்று ஆச்சர்யமாகவும், அதிர்ச்சியாகாவும் இருந்தது. ஆனால் 'இவை அனைத்தும் எனது தவறுகள் தான்' என்று ஒப்புக்கொள்ளும் போது, அவர் இப்போதிருக்கும் உயர்ந்த நிலை தெரிகிறது. அதற்கு நிச்சயமாக அவரது வாழ்வில் கிடைத்த வழிகாட்டிகள் தான் காரணமாக இருக்க முடியும்.

"தம்பி, நீ என்னாவா ஆகப்போற?"நான் டாக்டர் அல்லது என்ஜினியர் என்று சொல்வேன் என எதிர்பார்த்தாரோ என்னவோ? நான் அவரிடம் சொன்னது - இது தான்."ஐ வாண்ட் டு டை!"அப்பா:'அப்பா எனக்கு எல்லாமே தந்திருக்கிறார். ஒரு நடிகரின் புகழ் வெளிச்சம் எங்கள் மீது படாமல் பார்த்துக் கொண்டது தான் அவர் எங்களுக்குத் தந்த மிகப்பெரிய பரிசு. 'கார்ல போய்ட்டு வந்தா நாலு கார் கண்ணாடிக்குள்ளா வாழ்க்கை முடிஞ்சிடும். பஸ்ல போனாதான் நிஜமான வாழ்க்கை எப்படினு புரியும். நிறைய மனிதர்களைப் புரிஞ்சுக்க முடியும். ஸ்கூலுக்குப் பஸ்ல போப்பா', என்று யதார்த்த வாழ்க்கையைக் கற்றுத் தந்தார்.வண்டியை நிறுத்திவிட்டு நேரே செட்டுக்குள் போய் உட்கார்ந்தேன். பதற்றத்துடன் என்னைப் பார்த்த அப்பாவுக்கு அதிர்ச்சி. "என்னப்பா திடீர்னு?", என்றார். "உங்கப்பா லேட்டு! இன்னும் கிளம்பலையான்னு எரிச்சலோடு தொடர்ந்து மூன்று தடவை ஒருவர் போன் பண்ணினார். அவர் மூஞ்சியைப் பார்த்துட்டுப் போலாம்னு வந்தேன்", என்று குரலை உயர்த்திக் கத்தினேன்....நட்பு:என்னைக் கலங்கி அழ வைத்த நட்பும் உண்டு. 'சரவணா, நான் உன்னிடம் மனம் விட்டுப் பேசி நீண்ட நாள் ஆகிறது. உன்னை சந்திக்க வேண்டும்', என்றார். ஆனால் திட்டமிட்ட நாளில் இருவருக்குமே முடியாமல் போய் விட்டது. ஒரு மாதம் ஓடியிருக்கும். உறுத்தல் விரட்டியடித்ததில் வேலைகளைக் கொஞ்சம் ஒதுக்கிவிட்டு விஜய்யை சந்தித்து சர்ப்ரைஸ் கொடுக்கப் புறப்பட்டேன். ஆச்சர்யம்! எனது செல்போனில், 'விஜய் காலிங்', என்ற டிஜிட்டல் எழுத்துக்கள் மின்னின. விதியின் மேல் வெறுப்பும் விரக்தியும் தந்த போன்கால் அது.'காக்க காக்க.... கடைசி ஷெட்யூலுக்குப் பணம் இல்லை. குழப்பங்களும், பிரச்னைகளும் திரண்டு எங்களை ஆக்ரமித்த போது, கணம் கலங்கிப் போனோம். ஆனால் படத்தின் கதை எங்களைத் துவளவிடவில்லை. அதை அவ்வளவு விரும்பிக் காதலித்தோம். ஆசையாக என் கையால் தங்கைக்கு ஒரு வைர நெக்லஸ் வாங்கி பரிசளித்து விட வேண்டும் என்று போக்கிஷமாய் மூன்று லட்ச ரூபாய் சேர்த்து வைத்திருந்தேன். அதைத் தயங்காமல் எடுத்தேன். என்னைப் போலவே ஜோதிகாவும் கதையை நேசித்தவர். அவரது தந்தையிடம் எடுத்துச் சொல்லி, மூன்று லட்ச ரூபாய் வாங்கிக் கொடுத்தார். இறுதியாகக் கெளதம், அவரது மனைவியின் மொத்த நகைகளையும் விற்று விட்டார்'.ஒரு சிறந்த படத்தின் (நான் இன்னும் முழுமையாகப் பார்க்கவில்லை) வரலாறு தெரிகிறது.பாசம்:மெல்லிய முனகலோடு ஒவ்வொருவராக அழைத்து எங்கள் முகங்களை இரு கைகளால் ஏந்தியபடி "என் செல்லங்களைப் பார்த்துட்டேன்" என்றவர் என் முறை வந்த போது, "சாப்டியா கண்ணு" என்றார். அவரது கடைசி மணித்துளிகள் என்பதைக் கூட புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியாத நான், "நாய்க்குட்டிக்கு அப்பாக்கிட்ட சொன்னியா இல்லையா?", என வெடுக்கென்று கேட்டுவிட்டு, பதிலை எதிர்பாராமல் பள்ளிக்குப் புறப்பட்டு விட்டேன். பிறபகல் பள்ளி முடிந்து வந்தபோது....பாட்டியிடம் நாம் நெருக்கமாக இருக்கவில்லையே என்ற குற்ற உணர்வு, நண்பன் விஜய் மரணத்தின்போதும் என்னைக் கூண்டில் ஏற்றி விசாரித்தது.சென்னையில் அம்மாவின் தனிமையைப் போக்கிய துணையான ஜானகியின் தங்கை சின்ன லக்ஷ்மி. எங்கள் வீட்டில் நடந்த தீ விபத்தில் ஜானகி இறந்து போனார். தன்னுடைய பிள்ளையைப் போல் பார்த்துக் கொள்வார்கள் என்கிற நம்பிக்கை வைத்த பெற்றோர்களுக்கு என்ன பதில் சொல்வது என்று கலங்கிப் போனது என் குடும்பம். மூத்த மகளை அடக்கம் செய்த மறுநாள், 'லக்ஷ்மி இங்க இருக்கட்டும் மச்சான்' என்று இரண்டாவது மகளைப் பெருந்தன்மையாக விட்டுவிட்டுப் போனார் என் அத்தை வீட்டுக்காரர். 'ஏற்கனவே ஒரு பொண்ணைக் கொன்னுட்டேன். இன்னொரு பொண்ண இங்க விட்டுட்டு போகாதீங்க', என்று அப்பா கலங்கியபோது, 'ரெண்டு குழந்தைகளைத் தூக்கி வளர்ந்தீங்க, அதுல ஒண்ணு போயிடுச்சு. இன்னொண்ணு உங்ககிட்ட இருக்கிறதுதான் நியாயம்' என்று சொல்கிற மனிதர்களால் தான் நம் நாட்டில் இன்னமும் கிராமங்கள் அழகாக இருக்கின்றன.வேலை:"யாருடைய சிபாரிசும் இல்லாமல் நானே தேடிக்கொண்ட வேலை. .... கனவுகளோடு முதல் தேதி காலை எட்டு மணிக்கு ஃபேக்டரியில் இருந்தேன்.... என்னப்பா இன்னிக்கும் ஆபிஸ் பாய் லீவா?' என் டேபிள் இவ்ளோ மோசமா இருக்கு", என்று கத்திக்கொண்டே "ஹலோ மிஸ்டர் சரவண்ன்" .... "தொடப்பம் இருக்கும்.. எடுத்து ஆபிஸ் ரூமைக் கூட்டிப் பெருக்குங்க...", என்றார்.திரையுலகப் பிரமுகர்கள்:'சேது' படம் பார்த்து விட்டு, வாயடைத்துப்போய் அவரைத் தேடியபோது, அந்த ப்ரீவியூ தியேட்டரில் ஒரு சாதாரண ஊழியரைப் போல, லிஃப்ட்க்குப் பக்கத்தில் சுவரோடு சுவராக நின்றிருந்தார். ஒட்டு மொத்த உடம்பிலும் இருபத்தைந்து கிலோ சதையிருந்தால் அதிகம். நெஞ்சுக்கு மேலே பட்டனைத் திறந்து விட்டுக் கொண்டு, சட்டையைக் கை முட்டி வரை மடித்து விட்டிருந்தவரின் பாதங்களில் சாதாரண ஹவாய் காலணிகள்....சென்னை ஒய்.எம்.சி.ஏ. கிரவுண்டில் ஒரு நாள் ஸ்டண்ட் பிராக்டிஸ்ல உடம்பெல்லாம் மண்ணும், வியர்வையுமா இருந்தேன். அங்கே பக்கத்திலேயே ஜோதிகாவோட ஷூட்டிங். 'நம்ம கூட நடிச்ச் பொண்ணு 'குஷி', 'தெனாலி',-ன்னு எங்கேயோ உயரத்துக்குப் போயிடுச்சு. நாம என்னன்னா, இப்போதான் பல்டி அடிக்கவே கத்துக்கறோம்'னு நினைச்சிட்டுருக்கும் போது, 'சார் ஜோதிகா மேடம் கூப்பிடுறாங்க'ன்னு ஒருத்தர் வந்து கூப்பிட்டார். 'நான் எதுக்கு அவங்களைப் பார்க்க வரணும்? வேலையா இருக்கேன்'னு சொல்லி அனுப்பிட்டேன். மறுபடியும் அவர் திரும்ப வந்து கூப்பிடவே.. போனேன். 'என்ன சூர்யா, என்னை ஞாபகம் இருக்க?ன்னு கேட்டு செமத்தியா கலாச்சுட்டாங்க. 'என் படங்கள் பார்ப்பீங்களா'ன்னு கேட்டாங்க. 'ஓ... பார்ப்பேனுங்க'ன்னு அப்பாவியா சொன்னேன். 'அட்லீஸ்ட் ஒரு போன் பண்ணிப் பாராட்ட மாட்டீங்களா?'ன்னு கேட்டாங்க....

நந்தா'வுக்கு அப்புறம் என்ன பண்ணுறதுன்னு நான் குழப்பத்தில் இருந்த போது ஜோதிகாவிடமிருந்து போன்....அம்மா:நான் சினிமாவுக்கு வரும் போது, அம்மாவுக்கு தந்த ஒரேயொரு சத்தியத்தை மட்டும் என்னால் காப்பாற்ற முடியவில்லை. 'காதல் எல்லாம் சினிமாவில் மட்டும்தாம்மா. நிஜத்தில் நீங்க பார்க்குற பெண்ணைத் தான் கல்யாணம் பண்ணிக்குவேன்' என்று உறுதி சொல்லியிருந்தேன். எனக்கும் ஜோதிகாவிற்கும் நடந்த கல்யாணம், அம்மா எனக்காக விட்டுத் தந்த விஷயம்.இன்னும் நிறைய கொடுத்துக்கொண்டே செல்லலாம். புத்தகமாகப் படியுங்கள். இன்னும் சுவாரசியாமாக இருக்கும். ஒவ்வொரு அத்தியாயம் ஆரம்பத்தில் வரும் உவமைகள், உண்மையிலேயே சூர்யா எழுதியது தானா? உண்மை என்றால் ஆச்சர்யம்.

Velayudham movie launch function Madras University full speech July 15th

The pooja and kick off event of Vijay’s Velayudham, held today, was as much as a family event as it was a fan event. Fans from 30 districts in Tamil Nadu thronged the Madras University Centenary Hall in Chepauk to get a glimpse of Vijay and to participate in the commencement of the movie. The dais saw the Velayudham team present with their families: Vijay, Jeyam Raja, Aaskar Sridhar attended the event with their spouses along with S A Chandrasekhar, Shoba Chandrasekhar, Editor Mohan, Vijay Anthony, Genilia and Hansika Motwani.

The event started after a baton that travelled across Tamil Nadu and brought to the event by fans, was handed over to Vijay. At 10.05, the auspicious time, Pooja was held and a bound script was handed by Sridhar, S A Chandrasekhar and Editor Mohan to Vijay. A teaser trailer, shot during the photo sessions, was also shown to the hollering fans. A title song of sorts, composed by Vijay Anthony, was played time and again during the event making the fans scream their lungs out.

Hansika and Genilia were the first ones to speak at the event, who said that they are happy to associate with the team. After which Vijay Anthony addressed the audience, who also revealed that he was bowled over by the story even as it was narrated to him by Jeyam Raja. “I realized the edge-of-the-seat experience when I heard the story,” he said. He assured that the movie would be a runaway hit in 2011 and it would be an out and out entertainer with all commercial ingredients thrown in.

An ecstatic Raja said it is the happiest day in his life. “I’m lucky to have associated with producer Aascar Ravichandran. I’m happy that the chief guests for this event are the fans. They are the judges and I assure them that Velayudham would be the best movie in Vijay’s career,” he declared. A book, titled Saadanai Naayaganin Sarithira Padivugal, written by Vijay’s PRO for more than a decade P T Selvakumar was also released at the event. This book traces the life of Vijay from his childhood days to Velayudham and includes photos and snippets collected from various points of his life.

Vijay was all praise for producer Aascar Ravichandran and revealed that it was Ravi’s idea to have fans participate in the pooja of Velayudham. “My films usually do not have grand launch events. However, Aascar wanted it to be so but I was skeptical about it. I told him not to bring any international stars like Jackie Chan like he did for Dasavatharam launch. That is when he suggested this idea to include fans in the launch,” he said. “I am glad to have done this since I’m where I’m because of my fans,” he stated emotionally. He went on to assure that the movie would be a good entertainer and appealed his fans to support the movie like they do for his other movies.

On a lighter note, about the heroines, he said that Hansika Motwani is like Kushboo from 16 Vayadinile. On Genilia, he stated that they share a rapport since he knows her owing to their earlier association.

All the fans, who were selected to attend the event, received a gift hamper with a Velayudham Tshirt. They were also served with Biriyani and refreshments to go along with it.

DECISION ON ASIN AND VIJAY

Looks like the uproar on a ban on Asin since she is currently visiting Sri Lanka for the shoots of a Hindi film will soon be settled. In a media interaction, Sarath Kumar clarified that fixing shoot locations is not really in the hands of actors and that Asin can’t be held responsible for her Sri Lanka visit. “We are working out on the issue and an announcement about that will be out soon,” Sarath added.

He was also asked about the Vijay – theatre owners’ issue for which he opined that it was unfair to ask Vijay to pay up for the losses his films made. “Would the theatre owners be ready to part with the profit his movies make? It has to work both ways. Profit and loss are not in anybody’s hands,” Sarath questioned the integrity of the demand.

Tamil heroine Asin srilankan problem with nadigar sangam

Day by day the asin-nadigar sangam problem seems to be increasing.

Tamil Actress Asin seems to have added fuel to fire by visiting the war-torn areas – Vavuniya and Jaffna – in Sri Lanka along with the first lady of that country to conduct an eye camp. This has irked the Tamil film fraternity further.

Speaking on this issue, the Nadigar Sangam secretary Radha Ravi said that the Producer’s Council, FEFSI, Theatre Owners’ Association, and Distributors’ Association would convene a meeting in a day or two to discuss the course of action against Asin.

Radha Ravi pointed out that the delay in convening this meeting was because of the Producers’ Council elections.

Nadigar Sangam Secretary Radha Ravi has been questioned recently on what action Sangam would take on the actress Asin, who has gone to Sri Lanka for the shootings of the Hindi movie Ready. As we all know, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce and several other associations of the Tamil movie industry had issued a warning to all the Tamil actors to not visit Sri Lanka for shooting purposes and in which they have also made it clear that the Tamil film industry would not cooperate with their Sri Lankan counterparts.

Director seeman arrested in Tamil nadu

Tamil Film Director and Naam Thamizhar Party Founder Seeman was today arrested by the city police for allegedly making inflammatory speech ''aimed at inciting violence among religious groups.'' Police sources said Seeman was arrested at the Chennai Press Club where he came to address the media to explain his stand in the wake of cases registered against him.

On July 10, police had slapped cases on Seeman when he made inflammatory speeches during a demonstration to condemn the frequent attacks on Indian Fishermen by the Lankan Navy.

Seeman, who had formed ''Naam Tamizhar'' to espouse the cause of Eelam Tamils in Sri Lanka, had allegedly said, ''we could no longer tolerate the growing attacks on Indian fishermen and if it continued, Sinhala people will not be allowed to walk on the streets.'' He had also condemned Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse for his alleged role in the attack on innocent Tamils during the war and demanded convening of an all-party meet to adopt a resolution to declare him as a war criminal.

Stating the speeches were inflammatory in nature and aimed at inciting violence, the North Beach Police have registered cases against him under Sec 153-A (speaking in a manner to incite violence between two groups on the basis of religion, language and race) and under Sec 188 (speaking beyond the fixed time) of the IPC, read with Sec 13 (1) (b) of Unlawful Activities and Prevention Act, 1967 and 2004.

Germany rounded off an impressive World Cup with a thrilling 3-2 win over a stubborn Uruguay in a playoff for third place after a late headed goal by Sami Khedira at Nelson Mandela Bay stadium on Saturday.

The midfielder looped his header into the net after a goalmouth scramble following a corner eight minutes from time to give the three-times champions a deserved win and deny Uruguay their best finish since they lifted the trophy 60 years ago.

Germany had gone ahead in the 19th minute with Thomas Mueller's fifth goal of the tournament but Uruguay hit back nine minutes later through Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayans briefly snatched the lead through striker Diego Forlan, with his fifth goal at these finals, in the 51st but fullback Marcell Jansen equalised five minutes later.

Khedira then popped up with the winner but Uruguay went agonisingly close with the last kick of the game when Forlan's curling freekick from 20 metres rattled the crossbar.

"It's a tribute not just to the team but to all 23 players here that we were able to give a good performance and keep the quality high," said Khedira. "We've done well here but next time we want to get to the next level."

Asked about his last-gasp effort that almost found the net, Forlan said: "It just missed by a fraction. We improved a lot in the second half but we made a couple of mistakes and the game got away. I'm pretty tired but it's over now.

"We wanted to reach the final, it wasn't possible, but we did our best in every game. Now it's time for a rest."

Ram Gopal Varma in his blog says that that his forth-coming highly ambitious project ‘Rakta Charitra’ is a highly fictional absolute truth.

He wrote:

When people keep asking me about how much truth there will be in ‘RAKTA CHARITRA’ I keep answering them that it will be an absolutely truthful depiction of the original story but it will be only an absolute truth as in of what I believe to be the absolute truth of the story but what I myself believe to be the absolute truth is not necessarily the absolute true story. But who can vouch with absolute truth that what I am saying is not the absolute truth.

The reason why I am saying this is because I was not personally present physically at the time and place when those incidents happened, to claim it as absolute truth. Also most of the people who took part in those incidents have died or have been killed. The few remaining talked to me in extensive detail, but I can’t guarantee that they were telling me the absolute truth. Likewise I can’t guarantee you, that I am telling the absolute truth to you just by saying that they told me the absolute truth.

Also it’s impossible to find out the absolute truth behind the incidents which happened over such a long period of time.

But after hearing the various versions from the alleged killers, from closely related people of the victims, from people who were present when the orders for the killings were given, from accounts of the investigating police officers, from political leaders who were in the background supporting the said incidents and people, I have arrived conclusively at my own absolute truths and my absolute truths cannot be disputed by even the people who were involved as each of them in their own individual capacity know only a part of the whole truth and that too subjectively from their own perspective whereas I studied it objectively without being personally biased

But having said all this I still can’t guarantee that what I am saying is the absolute truth. Also as a Director my zest is not really about showing the absolute truth. Neither “Rakta Charitra’s objective is about putting the absolute truth out. The absolute truth is important only for the Judiciary and the Police.

My objective as a Director is to mirror the emotions, the mindsets and the extra ordinary situations created by those extreme people. But no matter how much I try, it will still be just a hazy reflection of the absolute truth and can never be the absolute truth.

Also you have to take into account the fact that when you condense a story which happened over years and years into about 4 and odd hours you have no choice but to infuse fiction into true incidents so as to just that much more effectively flow an emotion across. And you have to minus character traits from and add characteristic traits to some characters so as to make the audience understand the spirit and the soul of the characters more than trying to depict those characters in real time. But the bottom line is this that my intention of why I wanted to make “Rakta Charitra” is to depict the absolute truth and nothing but the absolute truth. But for this I made use of a lot of fiction to make the truth look absolute.

My final say is this that “Rakta Charitra” is a highly fictional absolute truth.

I went to this movie today morning with huge expectations.

There are few reasons for this huge hype.

1.A movie for Karthi after paruthiveeran (after long gap nearly 4 years).

2.movie was in production for more than 2 years

3.Tickets reserved till this sunday

4.Finally,A selvaraghavan movie

Reached ALBERT THEATRE by 7 45 am.Totally surprised to see Actor Karthi sivakumar there but disappointed that rima or andrea :) did not come.He was so cool.He watched the full movie with us.But unfortunately not able to get the Autograph from him.

The movie started sharply by 8 am without any delay.

Here comes the mini review/story about the movie.

Karthi's introduction was damn cool.I don't think any other actor would have given such a simple/local intro.So that's the forst plus for the movie.Reema sen was damn hot throughout the movie.The movie started with Reema Sen working as archeologist and karthi as coolie(normal worker).Andrea's father(Prathap pothan) went in research of chozha place found to be missing.

So Andrea and reema along with archeological team is planning to go to island near vietnam in search of missing prathap as well as chozha statues.Reema hiring karthi and his co workers to travel along with them.And the team very well aware of the problems and risks about the place they are travelling.There are some 7 traps like serpants,sea,kaattuvasis etc which they need to cross to find whether prathap pothan is alive and also to search about missing chola people.

Whether they(karthi,reema and andrea) are reaching the destination is the rest of story which i cannot tell now to break the suspense of the movie.ANyway i will write a brief review by next week.But for now all i can say is ,there are many many twists in the movie.So go and watch it soon.

Swine Flu is spreading its tentacles everywhere. The quickness of death is just spine chilling.

Chronology of events related to the first swine flu death in India:

- Rida Shaikh, the 14-year-old in Pune may have contracted the virus at a clinic on the July 23 or 24.
- Rida was admitted to Jehangir Hospital on July 26
- The doctors decided to send her samples to Ruby Hall Clinic on July 29
- After Ruby Hall sent negative reports, the doctors sent the throat and nasal swabs to National Institute of Virology (NIV) the same day.
- She tested positive for H1N1 on July 31. She was put on Oseltamivir or Tamiflu. But unfortunately, she passed away on Aug 3rd.
Reason cited: Late deduction and treatment. Its all over within 15 days.

Dilip Bhan, divisional commissioner of Pune, says “Testing can’t be done in every hospital lab. Certain care has to be taken while taking samples. The doctor or the technician has to wear protective gear. If it is not taken carefully, more people could be infected,” he added.

So government hospitals are the only hope.

The dreaded swine flu has no special symptoms, that makes it even more deadlier. The symptoms are like the ordinary flu - Cough, Cold, fever, throat infection, body ache.

Good standard flu prevention techniques are recommended to protect yourself against swine flu:

* Get a regular seasonal flu vaccination. It might not help against this specific strain, but it won't hurt.

* When you cough and sneeze, cover your mouth and nose. Wash your hands afterwards.

* Avoid being near others who might be sick.
